Job Summary:
The Server Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of the organization’s server infrastructure. This role ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the information systems that support core organizational functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Server Setup and Configuration: Install and configure server hardware and software, including operating systems and applications.
- System Monitoring: Monitor server performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Security Management: Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Backup and Recovery: Perform regular backups and develop disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- User Support: Provide technical support and guidance to users and other IT staff.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of server configurations, procedures, and changes.
- System Upgrades: Plan and execute server upgrades, patches, and new installations.
